Welcome to the DiLabio Research Group website. We are an inclusive and supportive group of theoretical and computational chemists focused on the development of fast methods to predict chemical properties with high accuracy. We apply these methods to across a broad range of fascinating problems in chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. Click on the Research link to get a glimpse into our most recent efforts.
My scientific career began as a researcher at the National Research Council of Canada in the group of the late Keith Ingold, a pioneer of modern radical chemistry. In 2003, I took up a position as a scientist at the National Institute for Nanotechnology (now the Nanotechnology Research Centre) where we worked to develop new devices that merged the properties of organic molecules with silicon technology. In 2014 I moved to UBC, where I served as the Head of Chemistry for five years and then as Dean of the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science until the end of 2023.
